Project Overview

Wav3s is a Web3-native content-promotion platform that became — and for a significant period remained — the exclusive paid-promotion solution in the Lens Protocol ecosystem. As Head of Design on a one-month sprint, I led both the UI/UX and the frontend UI strategy, collapsing fragmented multi-chain token mechanics into a single linear flow, working solo alongside one frontend engineer.

The platform lets creators and users run paid visibility and engagement campaigns — likes, shares, comments — across Farcaster and Lens, turning traditional digital advertising into a gamified, rewarding experience for both promoters and consumers.

The Challenge

  • Rapid execution: a fully designed product inside a tight one-month sprint.
  • Blockchain complexity: users had to manage and deploy tokens from different chains across fragmented social protocols without feeling overwhelmed by technical friction.
  • Trust through playfulness: the tool had to feel secure and trustworthy while breaking away from dry, traditional DeFi interfaces to match the vibrant culture of Social-Fi.

How I Solved It

1. Streamlined Token Architecture — multi-chain complexity behind one linear flow

To handle multi-chain token routing, I implemented a strict, path-based filtering system. Using progressive disclosure through simple dropdowns, the interface abstracts the underlying blockchain mechanics: users move through one clear, linear flow to set their promotion parameters, keeping cognitive load minimal.

2. Y2K Aesthetic as a Trust Signal

Wav3s runs on a distinctive, playful, cartoonish Y2K-era identity. Where traditional fintech relies on austere minimalism to build trust, Web3 and Social-Fi audiences operate on a different visual paradigm — so I leveraged the vibrant aesthetic deliberately. In this context the playful UI reads as a native trust signal, dramatically lowering the barrier to entry for content promotion.

Engineering Handoff

As the sole designer working alongside a dedicated frontend developer, I led both the design and the frontend UI strategy.

  • Unified protocol UI: I designed one standardized interface that worked seamlessly across the Lens and Farcaster APIs, accommodating specific token restrictions dynamically without separate user flows.
  • Animation and interaction: I used Jitter to prototype and hand off micro-interactions, so the playful brand identity translated directly into the live product.
  • Tech stack alignment: components and design logic were structured for immediate integration into a React.js / Next.js environment, actively accounting for wagmi and web3auth constraints.

Outcome & Proof

For a significant stretch, Wav3s was the exclusive solution for paid content promotion and advertising in the Lens Protocol ecosystem — the default tool creators reached for before competing ad initiatives later emerged. After the initial one-month sprint, the design foundation was solid enough for the development team to maintain and scale the product independently.

What this demonstrates: owning design and frontend UI strategy end to end, solo, to ship a category-defining Web3 product — and building a system durable enough to hand off and outlast the sprint.
